Manual log upload

Manual upload is the fastest way to validate an instrument format, analyze historical data, or try Chipper before setting up a continuous source.

Upload files

1. Open Investigate → Log Files.
2. Select Upload Files.
3. Choose the instrument the files came from.
4. Drag one or more files into the upload area, or select them from your computer.
5. Review the staged list and select Upload.

The instrument type controls which file extensions the dialog accepts. Each file must be no larger than 48 MiB.

Confirm processing

The file list updates as ingestion proceeds. A healthy file moves from Received or Processing to Processed.

Open Details to confirm the instrument, methods, runs, events, and alerts Chipper attributed to the file. Open the file viewer to search the original text and inspect the evidence behind an event.

If a processed file has no events, confirm that relevant rules are enabled under Configure → Rules → Rules Library. If the file shows an error, see Troubleshooting.

Move to continuous ingestion

Manual upload is best for bounded historical files. Use the Chipper Log Collector or an existing cloud source for live or actively growing logs.
