๐Ÿ“ฃ Alerts

Alerts are created when a threshold condition is met. They help you react quickly to issues with instruments, methods, or lab workflow.

๐Ÿง  What Triggers an Alert?โ€‹

An alert is triggered when:

  1. A rule matches a pattern in your log
  2. A threshold is configured on that rule
  3. That threshold is breached (e.g., too many events, or a method takes too long)

๐Ÿ“จ How Alerts Are Deliveredโ€‹

  • Email: Chipper notifies assigned users with alert details
  • Slack: Alerts can be routed to a specific channel
  • Dashboard: Alerts appear on the main dashboard and alert history page

๐Ÿ“‹ Whatโ€™s in an Alert?โ€‹

  • Time triggered
  • Instrument/method context
  • Trigger rule name
  • Threshold condition
  • Full message with optional link to log snippet

Use alerts to catch failures early, track lab reliability, and improve overall uptime.
